the motorcycle diaries

I've known little to nothing about Ernesto "Che" Guevera other than him being a Southern American (I now know he is Argentinian) revolutionary who was killed and has become one of the most populer faces printed on a t-shirt. I suspect not everyone that wears those t-shirts actually know who he is but maybe I'm just hoping they are as ignorant as me.

I have to say (as much as I hate saying it), this movie is a perfect 'road movie' and would have been perfect for my Advanced English Module on 'Journeys.' I won't say too much or I'll risk slipping back into those classes where we analysed everything. It is a beautiful movie and inspiring, so much that I wish I could travel like Guevara and Alberto Granado de la Serna, and see South America. There are funny moments - dodgy motorcycle, native walking past the two best friends up the mountain carrying three times the baggage compared to Granado who had just passed out saying he can't go on. This is Guevera before graduating from medical school, before revolutionary years and the only hint of what was to come was Guevara's strong feeling against the injustices of the people he met. I have to stop here becuse I am not a critic, I just love this movie.
