what happens in the meadow at dawn?
Existential: Philosophy based upon our sense experience and reality.
Relating to or dealing with existence.
Existentialism: (It gets more complicated even just looking at the definitions from here. So I'll have to stop here.)
'I Heart Huckabees' is a funny, and crazy movie as my friend (who shall remain nameless) agrees. I went in not knowing much about it other than involving existential detectives, and not really understanding what existential means other than guessing it had something to do with existence. Which is fine because I enjoyed the movie and the entire film as well as script was hilarious. I can't remember lines from things easily (I have problems remembering lyrics to my favourite song) so I did a quick search and below are just some examples of what I'm talking about.
Albert Markovski: Nobody sits like this rock sits. You rock rock. The rock just sits and is. You show us how to just sit here and that's what we need.
Vivian Jaffe: Have you ever transcended space and time?
Albert Markovski: Uh, Time not space... No I don't know what you're talking about.
Bernard Jaffe: Say this blanket represents all the matter and energy in the universe, okay? This is me, this is you, And over here, this is the Eiffel Tower, right, it's Paris!
Albert Markovski: [about the body bag exercise] I can't go back in there. It's all hating faces that I have to chop up with a machete!
Tommy Corn: We'd all be heroes if we stopped using petroleum.
Dawn Campbell: You can't deal with my infinite nature can you?
Brad Stand: That is so not true. Wait what does that even mean?
Dawn Campbell: I'm in my tree, talking to the Dixie Chicks and they're making me feel better.
Brad Stand: How am I not myself?
Vivian Jaffe: Let's see, how am I not myself?
Bernard Jaffe: Myself
Vivian Jaffe: How am I not myself?
Bernard Jaffe: How am I not myself?
Vivian Jaffe: How am I not myself?
The opening voice-over monologue of Albert Markovski was an absurd introduction to a movie and character which made it funny but had swearing which I'm not comfortable with including on my blogspot.
